1. General Information

The Center for International Affairs (hereinafter – the Center) is a structural unit of the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Environmental Recovery and Development of Ukraine” (hereinafter – the Institute). Its activities are aimed at developing and coordinating international cooperation, integrating the Institute into the European and global research and educational space, and attracting external resources for the implementation of environmental and educational projects at the international level.

The Center operates in close cooperation with the scientific and educational divisions of the Institute, ensures communication with foreign partners, international organizations and foundations, and facilitates the implementation of international programs in the fields of ecology, science, education, and innovation.

2. Purpose and Objectives

The purpose of the Center’s activities is to ensure the development of the Institute’s international cooperation, integration into the global scientific and educational community, participation in international programs and projects, as well as to promote European integration processes in the field of environmental recovery and development of Ukraine.

The main objectives of the Center are to:

• develop and coordinate the Institute’s international contacts with universities, research institutions, organizations, and foundations of other countries;
• prepare, support, and implement international agreements, contracts, and memorandums;
• participate in international educational and research programs and projects;
• search for and attract international grants to support research and educational activities;
• monitor and analyze international practices in ecology, science, and education;
• provide information and analytical support to the Institute’s structural divisions regarding international opportunities;
• promote the results of the Institute’s research at the international level.

3. Main Areas of Activity

• International scientific cooperation – organization of joint research, exchange of scientific results, participation in international consortia.
• Grant and project activities – preparation and support of international projects, participation in grant program competitions.
• Information and analytical support – preparation of materials for international organizations, analytical reviews, presentations, and reports.
• Organization of international events – holding conferences, seminars, and other international initiatives.
• Development of the Institute’s international reputation – representing the Institute in international institutions, etc.

4. Information and Analytical Activities

The Center provides:

• monitoring of international programs and foundations relevant to the Institute’s activities;
• preparation of informational and analytical materials on trends in international environmental, educational, and scientific policies;
• maintenance of information resources on international opportunities for researchers, PhD candidates, and students;
• organization of translation and dissemination of scientific materials for the international audience.

5. Educational and Cultural Cooperation

• organization of academic mobility programs and educational exchanges;
• hosting international integration events for foreign participants;
• cooperation with international institutions and foundations;
• promoting the internationalization of the educational process at the Institute.

6. Presentational and Image Aspects

The Center ensures the strengthening of the Institute’s positions and visibility at the international level through:

• active participation in international associations and professional networks;
• representation of the Institute at international forums and conferences;
• promotion of Ukrainian scientific and educational achievements in the field of environmental recovery and development.

Thus, the Center for International Affairs is a key unit of the Institute that ensures international integration, expands opportunities for cooperation, and contributes to the sustainable development of Ukraine’s scientific and educational potential in the field of ecology.
